The Sandals story
Sandals is the brand couples save up for. Adults-only and built entirely around romance, it more or less invented the luxury Caribbean all-inclusive when Gordon Butch Stewart opened the first one in Montego Bay in 1981, and it is still the first name most people say when they start planning a honeymoon.
The idea is everything-included, done properly. Not a wristband and a buffet, but candlelit dinners on the sand, top-shelf drinks, and rooms that run all the way up to over-water bungalows and butler suites, with the tips and the extras folded in so the week actually feels switched-off. There are 17 Sandals resorts across eight island nations, each leaning into that same romantic register.
Families are not shut out, just pointed next door. Beaches, the sister brand, brings the same luxury-included approach to all-ages resorts with waterparks and kids' clubs, so a couple who honeymoons at Sandals can come back years later, children in tow, without leaving the family of brands.
Jamaica is home base, and still where Sandals feels most itself, but the map runs out through Saint Lucia, Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, the Bahamas and beyond. It is a premium way to spend a week in the Caribbean, and for the right occasion, one of the most memorable.
